We have arrived. The day before yesterday we got in around 10:30 in the evening and after an hour-out-of-the-way detour we made it home at midnight! You can imagine how tired we were, but happy nonetheless. Yesterday we relaxed and utilized the jet lag as an excuse to do almost nothing. We did manage to ride our bikes to Danny’s (we sent a warm welcome from the Chercka family) and to the Marketplace for some groceries. Sally got a bath by her biological mother and my biological mom drove us to the beach where we feasted on Tropical Smoothie wraps on my grandparent’s deck. The waves were nice but the ocean was freezing. Perhaps I will get an opportunity to surf sometime this week. The first day was bliss!
Today, we will probably get in touch with friends, maybe hit up a thrift store or four. Otherwise, we have nothing planned except driving the Honda around with the top down, stereo turned with a phat sound…
We are so grateful to be here in my hometown where SUV’s and barbeque rule the earth. We’ll be giving you new billeder each week (probably more frequently than that) from the obx what! what!
