Yesterday was the fourth of July and I cannot even tell you the fun we had! Chad and April had a party in Manteo which kicked off at about 5:30.

But before I begin, I am sure Simon would want all the Danes to know that he had to go to Manteo early because he reserved a couch at our friend Trishas house to watch the World Cup. This involved him leaving my parents around 2:30, getting to Trish's at three and watching the game there because Chad an April did not have cable at thier house. Watching it at my parents meant that he would arrive at the party about two hours late (this wasn't an option for his loving wife). Therefore, I thought all Danes should know that my husband remains a devoted futbol representative.

Now, back to the party. When we first got there we started out with some frisbee tossing before the big game that would take place later that evening. The girls strengthed thier wrist flicking technique and diving skills and the men sat and chatted. Brooke decided that there would be a Slip-N-Slide at April's and we all utilized the equipment vigorously getting cooled down anticipating that we would be heated up in the hours to follow. About an hour into the party we grew anxious and the whistle finally blew calling us all together for our 2nd Annual Ultimate Frisbee Game. Amazingly, our team was in the lead with shouts like, "Don't pass it to Simon. Simon is poison," or "Someone needs to guard Jody at all times." With some team work and some intellegent passes we were victorious by one point. After the game was over we ate some amazing food and relaxed as the evening drew near to a short walk downtown to watch the fireworks. Finally, about 25 of us walked to bridge that overlooks the historic Elizabeth II and watched as hundreds of firecrackers launched over the water. The day and the activities accompaning it were very memorable!

I must take a moment of silence to remember our fun Manteo jubilees at Chad and my sisters house. So long 409 Devon Street and may your new owners know how to decorate you.
